Charity Begins in the Kitchen

Fifteen was founded by Jamie Oliver in 2002, to use the magic of food to give unemployed young people a chance to have a better future. Blacksheep was asked to carry out the redesign of the restaurant, which accompanies an overall relaunch including a new menu, following our successful design of the new Jamie’s Italian restaurant at Westfield. Fifteen features the same 28-strong team of professional chefs along with the year’s brand new apprentices - the 9th group of young people to start Fifteen’s unique training programme since the restaurant was the subject of Channel 4’s “Jamie’s Kitchen” series in 2002. All profits go to registered charity, the Jamie Oliver Foundation, which funds its pioneering Apprentice Programme.  Fifteen London continues to draw inspiration from the most exciting food destinations of Italy - Campania, Tuscany, Piedmonte and Puglia - and sees a refresh of its menu designs both upstairs in the Trattoria and downstairs in the flagship restaurant. Jo Sampson, Creative Director at Blacksheep, who designed the new look for the restaurants, says “We wanted to bring a bit of soul and heritage back into the interior. The restaurant has a great location in a wonderful old building and we sought to reconnect the space to the building’s fabric and context in our materials palette. The interior will be contemporary and urban as well as rich, warm and welcoming.”
