‘Jamie’s Italian’ is a collection of site-specific Italian restaurants by British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, located in major towns and cities around the UK.  Blacksheep created a new outlet for ‘Jamie’s Italian’ at the Bullring in Birmingham, combining  new design thinking and material treatments relevant to the site with elements generic to the brand.  The project design language was informed by the heritage of Birmingham as an industrial powerhouse and its history of specialist workshops and engineering factories.  The space was conceptualised as a bold, vertically-planned composition, with the insertion of a new freestanding mezzanine structure based upon elevated site offices.
